Transfiguration of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

My brother and I were up late the other night chatting up various topics of concern. Throughout our discussion we covered civil and personal rights, history, the state of affairs in the U.S. with regards to the upcoming presidential election, apathy in America and the post war efforts in Iraq. He’s genuinely interested in finding the truth about most things, Christianity included. As a result of our conversation, I came to the conclusion, that only one thing matters in this world…

Souls.

Not to take away from the poignancy of your post but, I didn't even know you had a brother! I always thought you were an only child for some reason.

...That's cause I act like one!No, I have two brothers and two sisters, and in actuality, the brother I was referring to in the post is my brother-in-law Love - Toy’s brother.

Wow John, this really hit me this morning. You are so so right. That was my dad's biggest concern in the world too, bringing the lost to Christ. He is our only hope of life.

Truth. What struck me (in this conversation with Love) is that for the first time in my life, with clarity and a sense of great urgency, I realize that maintaining the sanctity of our souls is our responsibility to one another and ourselves if we are to reflect God’s grace.

Very good post... it is refreshing to remember that all the stuff in the news today and most of the stuff in our lives are is of little importance next to knowing God.
